In everything I create, I seek the same thing: the beauty that is often already present, but which is only revealed when you look at it with focused attention.
Nature is my greatest source of inspiration.
I find wonder in the veins of a leaf, the fragility of butterfly wings, and the color and sheen of a piece of fruit, as well as in the silence and atmosphere of a landscape. It is precisely this attention to small details and subtle color variations that brings me the joy of creation.
PAINTINGS
In my paintings, I strive to capture the beauty and atmosphere of nature as realistically as possible. I work primarily with oil paint, building up my paintings layer by layer. Transparent layers provide depth and a luminous glow, while opaque paint adds accents, light, and vibrancy.
I am fascinated by the way a painting slowly evolves: from a simple underpainting in shades of white and brown to a rich, colorful composition.
While painting, I am completely focused on my subject. It is a moment of observing, discovering, and marveling. At the same time, I am constantly aware of how fragile and precious our natural world is. That love and respect for the world around us form the foundation of my work.
I continue to develop my skills and learn from other artists and mentors. For me, every new painting is a challenge to capture my subject even more strikingly, colorfully, and atmospherically.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Photography grew out of my painting practice. A painting often begins with a photograph. In my search for the right image, lighting, and atmosphere, I began to delve deeper into photography and image editing. Over time, I discovered that photography has become much more to me than just an aid to painting. Capturing a special moment, an atmosphere, or a surprising detail gives me just as much satisfaction.
Sometimes I even ask myself: which truly comes first—painting or photography?
MOSAICS
When creating mosaics, color and the interplay of lines are my primary points of departure.
I combine various materials, such as tiles and glass, and play with shape, size, and texture. Sometimes I paint the tiles myself to give the work a more distinctive character.
As with my paintings and photography, I find my inspiration in nature, people, and animals.
I also find it rewarding to give discarded objects a second life. An old vase, a wooden animal figure, or a serving tray can be transformed—through color, shape, and material—into a new, surprising, and colorful work of art.
